It's a common beverage. A bottle of wine at the dinner table.  Some have said that drinking any kind of alcohol related beverage is wrong. They have determined it to be a sinful act. Just one four ounce serving of wine (or maybe two or three) with or after dinner?  The thing is, there is no biblical support to say that it is a sin to drink wine, or any other beverage with alcohol.  There were those in the Bible who swore off any kind of alcohol, but it is clear that it was a personal decision.

The Bible DOES make it clear that DRUNKENNESS is a BAD thing.
Where that line is crossed, many disagree. Some people believe that getting that "glow" is okay with a couple drinks.  Whether that "glow" crosses the line into drunkenness is really not our concern, it is the concern of the Holy Spirit, who if necessary will bring about conviction and change.

And yes, again, drunkenness IS a bad thing.  Wasn't it Lot that had sex with his daughter in a drunken state? Didn't Noah curse Canaan after being discovered drunk?  Don't drunk drivers present a serious problem for us today? Does alcohol and an alcoholic go together?Yes. yes. and yes. and no.

But we are not talking about drunk driving or alcoholism.  We are just talking about drinking alcohol.
The best I can figure after reviewing this? As Paul outlined to Timothy the qualifications for deacons and elders, in regard to alcohol, is that they Don't Get Taken By It.

So followers of Jesus and those who kind of like that idea, don't freak out when you see a friend in the faith with a beer in their hand, or tiny umbrellas in their glasses.  And don't be afraid to take their car keys either.

Now apply this to many other things in our life we are "Taken With" and do not consider that a sin, when it may well be.  Think about it, and in the meantime?  Be careful of what you are taken by.
